The Job by Janet Evanovich & Lee Goldberg

This is the latest installment of the adventures of Nicolas Fox & Kate O’Hare. Kate is an FBI agent who is secretly working with Nicolas. There have been a string of burglaries that are looking like the work of notorious Nicolas Fox. The problem is that Kate O’Hare has been keeping track of Nicolas and she knows that it cannot be him committing the crimes. So now Kate and Nicolas have to work together but keep their relationship a secret while also trying to find who is really committing the crimes. Meanwhile the sexual tension between Kate & Nicolas is only getting more intense. They have to balance emotions and find out why someone is framing Nicolas.

I found this book entertaining. The story line has many twists and turns. It will keep you on your toes. I found myself wanting Nicolas to be exonerated and also mad at myself for wanting good things for a criminal. I cannot help but liking Nicolas as much as Kate does and battling those emotions. It makes me feel like I can relate to the characters. This book also has moments of humor that made me laugh out loud. I enjoy when an author can add a bit of humor without making the book too silly. The authors also did a good job at describing little nuances, like what an interrogation room is like in most police stations. Overall this was a good book and a quick read. I would recommend it for a fun day on the beach or a rainy day. It will make you laugh and keep you on the edge of your seat.
